THE IBDP CURRICULUM
The IB Diploma Program comprises the DP core and five subject groups.
Students at TGS choose six subjects from the following subject groups:
Group 1 Studies in language and literature
Group 2 Language acquisition
Group 3 Individuals and societies
Group 4 Sciences
Group 5 Mathematics

Students will take some subjects at Higher level (HL) and some at Standard level (SL). HL and SL subjects differ in scope but are measured according to the same grade descriptors, with students expected to demonstrate a greater body of knowledge, understanding, and skills at a higher level.
Each student takes a minimum of three or a maximum of four subjects at a higher level, and the remaining at a standard level. They may select any three subjects from Groups 3 & 4, but not more than two from each group.

CAS is an experiential learning component of the DP. Students undertake diverse extracurricular, community service, and athletic activities to fulfill this requirement.
Students take up independent, in-depth study of a research topic from any DP subject.
A 4000-word essay - thesis paper. Focuses on developing academic research and writing skills. TOK is an interdisciplinary course that encourages students to question and understand how they know what they know. Students learn to investigate the bigger questions about the nature of knowledge in unconventional ways to help them better understand the world around them.
