Games Carnival: A Day of Fun for a Cause

The Galaxy School, Rajkot, in collaboration with Interact, successfully hosted the Fundraising Games Carnival 2026 on Sunday, March 1st, at the SNK (East) School Courtyard. The event brought together students, parents, and the local community for a vibrant day filled with excitement, creativity, and purpose.
From 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, the campus transformed into a lively carnival space featuring a variety of engaging games, colourful stalls, and joyful performances. The festive atmosphere, highlighted by bright decorations and enthusiastic participation, created a memorable experience for all attendees. More than just a day of fun, the carnival aimed to raise funds for meaningful community initiatives focused on the Divyadrashti project. Students played an active role in organising and managing activities, demonstrating teamwork, leadership, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

This Women’s Day, We Chose to Reflect

On 9th March 2026, we arranged an International Women’s Day address that became far more than a celebration.
The session opened with the Tata Capital Stop Blaming Her video and a social experiment based on a riddle, prompting students to recognize how deeply assumptions and unconscious bias shape everyday thinking.
Raj Sir drew on the idea of Ardhanarishvara, along with leaders such as Razia Sultan, Indira Gandhi, and Margaret Thatcher, to help students see equality as balance rather than competition.
Parul Ma’am explored the erasure of women’s voices in publishing history. Through references to Shakespeare’s imagined sister and Shakespeare’s Sisters, she encouraged students to question whose voices are remembered and whose are left out.
Amit Sir brought in the voices of Mahadevi Verma and Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, showing how literature can become a space for dignity, courage, and resistance.
Sudipta Sir narrated the story of Queen Bhavashankari, reminding students that history is very rich, with women whose leadership and valour often remain underrepresented.

Together, the session reminded us that education must go beyond celebration.

A Workshop That Sparked Thinking and Growth

On the 13th and 14th of March, something shifted for our DP learners at The Galaxy School. What began as a workshop slowly unfolded into an experience that reached far beyond skills and activities. Across two days, students stepped into uncertainty—speaking up, taking risks, and learning to trust their ideas. The Skillsphere emergence workshop celebrated moments of hesitation as well as moments of courage.
It was not just about pitching ideas or solving problems. It was about finding a voice, learning to listen, and realising that growth often begins where comfort ends. Students reflected not only on what they could do, but on who they are becoming—more confident, more aware, and more open to learning. Some discovered strengths they hadn’t recognised before. Others became aware of the spaces they still want to grow into. But in every reflection, there was honesty—and in that honesty, there was real progress.

Strengthening Partnerships: DP 2 PTM After UT4

The school recently held the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) for our DP2 students following the completion of Unit Test 4 (UT4). This important interaction provided a valuable platform for meaningful dialogue between parents and teachers regarding student progress and readiness for the upcoming final examinations.
During the meeting, subject teachers shared insights into individual performance, highlighting strengths, identifying areas for improvement, and offering targeted strategies to support students in their final phase of preparation. Emphasis was placed on time management, exam techniques, and consistent revision practices, all of which are crucial for success in the IBDP.

Red House assembly- Colours of Strength

The Red House Assembly brought together the vibrant spirit of Holi with a powerful message on. women's empowerment. Through a meaningful skit, we used the colours of Holi to reflect the diverse experiences of women in society—highlighting both celebration and the challenges they face. The assembly also honoured the courage and dedication of two Indian women army officers, recognising their remarkable contributions during Operation Sindhoor. Their stories inspired us all and reinforced the importance of strength, equality, and respect. A celebration of colour, courage, and change—Red House truly made it memorable.

Blue House Assembly- Finding Happiness in the Chaos

On the occasion of the International Day of Happiness, students of The Galaxy School presented a short classroom theatre piece, “March 20th,” exploring the contrast between the idea of happiness and its real experience in student life. The play captured the everyday reality of IB students—deadlines, stress, and last-minute panic—through humour and relatable dialogues. Beyond the chaos, the performance highlighted an important message: happiness is not something that comes after stress ends, but something found in small moments—sharing notes, helping friends, and laughing together. A simple yet powerful reminder that even in the busiest classrooms, happiness quietly exists.

UpliftEd: Service That Continues to Grow

At The Galaxy School, service becomes most meaningful when it grows beyond a requirement into a lasting commitment. UpliftEd is a strong example of this spirit in action.
The initiative began in 2023 as ArchieUplifts, led by Archi Somaiya, recipient of the Service Impact Award 2025. Over time, Archi dedicated more than 210 hours to working with over 80 students from RMC School, creating learning experiences that developed communication, confidence, teamwork, creativity, and other essential 21st century skills.
This year, the initiative has entered a new phase, with 25 students from the DP Nov 2027 batch joining the effort. Together, they will continue this meaningful work with renewed energy, structure, and shared purpose, helping extend the initiative's impact to more young learners.
UpliftEd reflects the values of student leadership, compassion, and purposeful service that we value deeply at TGS.

Beyond the Classroom: Science That Matters

Our DP2 students recently engaged in a collaborative science project that brought together physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science by studying sewage treatment plants. The classroom research extended into a field visit, where students had the opportunity to observe wastewater management systems in action. The experience helped them connect scientific concepts across disciplines, from biological treatment and chemical processes to system design, monitoring, and technological applications. More importantly, it allowed them to see how science works in real-world contexts to address environmental challenges. Beyond subject knowledge, the project encouraged collaboration, curiosity, and a deeper sense of responsibility towards sustainable living. It was a valuable reminder that meaningful learning happens when students can connect what they study to the world around them.

The month of February started on a high note as The Galaxy School proudly hosted its much-anticipated IBDP Cultural Function – Theatrical Spectacle, along with the Prize Giving Ceremony, on 5th February 2026 at the Savani Centre for Performing Arts.
The highlight of the evening, “The Mistrys: Viraasat Ki Siyaasat,” captivated the audience with its powerful narrative centered on legacy, leadership, and the intricate dynamics of inheritance and ambition. The production was a remarkable showcase of our students’ creativity, confidence, and collaborative spirit. From compelling performances and expressive dialogue delivery to thoughtfully designed costumes and stage aesthetics, every element reflected dedication and artistic excellence.

A Heartfelt Farewell to the Class of 2025

On 16th February 2026, The Galaxy School bid an emotional and dignified farewell to the Graduating Class of 2025 in a deeply moving Valedictory Ceremony held at the SNK East Courtyard.
The evening commenced with a graceful procession led by the Director and Principal, setting a tone of pride and reverence. The traditional lighting of the lamp and the floral tribute to Maa Saraswati symbolised the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom that has guided our students throughout their journey.
One of the most poignant moments of the ceremony was the symbolic passing of the Lamp of Knowledge—a powerful gesture that symbolized legacy, continuity, and responsibility. The programme beautifully wove together tributes to the nation, heartfelt speeches by student and parent representatives, and the inspiring Valedictory Address.
The Blessing Ceremony, in which parents offered their blessings to the graduating cohort, created an atmosphere of gratitude and emotion. The homage to teachers and the final farewell moments were a touching reminder of the bonds nurtured over the years.
Rooted in tradition and enriched with meaning, the ceremony was not just a farewell, but a celebration of growth, resilience, and achievement. As the Class of 2025 steps into a new chapter, they carry with them the values, memories, and spirit of The Galaxy School.
We wish our graduates continued success and fulfillment as they move forward to shape the future with confidence and purpose.

Pre-Duke Expedition to Mount Abu

On 10th January, students of The Galaxy School embarked on an exciting Pre-Duke expedition to the scenic hill station of Mount Abu. The trip was designed as a preparatory experience for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award journey, helping students build resilience, teamwork, leadership, and outdoor survival skills.
Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Aravalli Hills, students participated in trekking activities that challenged their endurance and determination. Navigating uneven terrain, managing time effectively, and supporting one another along the route helped them develop essential problem-solving and collaboration skills.
The expedition also provided valuable lessons in responsibility and planning. Students carried their essentials, followed safety protocols, and worked in teams to complete assigned tasks. Throughout the journey, they demonstrated discipline, cooperation, and a positive spirit — qualities that reflect the core values of The Galaxy School.
Beyond the physical challenge, the experience allowed students to disconnect from their routine and connect with nature. The serene landscapes of Mount Abu offered moments of reflection, strengthening their appreciation for the environment and sustainable practices.
The Pre-Duke trip was not just an outdoor adventure; it was a transformative learning experience. Our students returned more confident, self-reliant, and prepared for the next stage of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award journey.
We are proud of their enthusiasm and perseverance and look forward to many more enriching experiential learning opportunities.

On 3 January 2026, The Galaxy School welcomed the parents and students of the IBDP November 2027 cohort for a focused DP Orientation and Policy Session.
The session was led by the DPC Deepthi Uthaman and ADPC Siddharth Naidu, who walked families through the policies, expectations, and the real workings of the Diploma Programme. No jargon, no rush. Just clarity on what the DP demands and how we support students through it.
What followed mattered just as much.
Over tea and biscuits, parents met advisors in an open, informal setting. Conversations flowed easily, questions were asked freely, and relationships began to take shape. That hour of interaction did more than any handbook could. It helped us understand each other and set the tone for trust, communication, and partnership from day one.

On 26th December 2025, the Cohort of 2026 at The Galaxy School presented their TOK Exhibition, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐖𝐚𝐲 — 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐲, 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞
Each exhibition object reflected a student’s engagement with knowledge questions rooted in real life. What stood out was not just the clarity of ideas but the willingness to question assumptions, acknowledge uncertainty, and invite dialogue. Conversations flowed, perspectives clashed respectfully, and thinking remained at the centre.
This is Theory of Knowledge at its best.
Not about answers, but about questioning well.
Not about agreement, but about understanding deeply.
Proud of our Cohort of 2026 for the maturity, confidence, and curiosity they brought to the exhibition. These are the kinds of thinkers the IB hopes to nurture — reflective, open-minded, and principled.

TOBACCO AWARENESS PROJECT @ TGS
Chewing tobacco and smoking remain deeply entrenched habits for many in our community. Recognising the need to address this with empathy and clarity, TGS 𝐈𝐁𝐃𝐏 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐨𝐧-𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟

𝐀 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐈𝐁 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐱𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥!
On 1 December 2025, we opened our doors to a fresh cohort of 33 bright, curious, and motivated learners stepping into the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
What stood out most was the leadership from within. Our Associate Head Boy, Racheet Rajyaguru and Associate Head Girl, Ayushi Kansagra, led the orientation with confidence, introducing the faculty, subject groups, CAS, and the core components of the DP, and guiding the new students around the campus. It’s always inspiring to see our learners take charge, support their peers, and uphold the spirit of IB from day one.
We look forward to watching this dynamic group grow, explore, and thrive over the next two years. The journey has just begun—and the future already looks promising.

Welcome to the DP family!

PROUD MOMENT FOR THE GALAXY SCHOOL IB
A big round of applause to our brilliant Interactors — Helly, Ansh and Krish — for securing the 2nd Runner-Up position in the ESRAG South Asia Mega Quiz Series – Part 1 Finale!
Competing at a South Asia level and shining through shows their sharp knowledge, environmental awareness, and passion for global citizenship. Their success reflects the values we champion at TGS — curiosity, collaboration, and the drive to make a difference.
This achievement motivates us to keep learning, keep questioning, and keep contributing to a more sustainable world.

LEARNING BECOMES POWERFUL WHEN GUIDED BY THE RIGHT MENTOR
Our IB2 students wrapped up an energetic four-day SkillSphere workshop led by Anansh Prasad, whose dynamic facilitation made every session insightful, challenging, and genuinely fun.
The workshop explored two essential learning tracks:

•  Asian Parliamentary Debates
Students dove into structured argumentation — crafting, challenging, and strengthening ideas while finding their voice as communicators and collaborators. Their confidence grew with every speech and every round of preparation.
•  Financial Literacy

Through real-world case discussions like the rise of Byju’s, and a strategy-packed virtual board game Walk of Life – Financial Turnaround, students learned how bankrupt companies can attempt revival — applying financial fundamentals along the way.
What truly made this experience special was the enthusiasm of this IB cohort — curious thinkers, active contributors, and supportive teammates. They embraced every challenge with focus and energy.

TURNING WASTE INTO WORTH: ECO-BRICKS BY INTERACT CLUB
Our DP students aren’t just talking about sustainability — they’re rolling up their sleeves and making it happen.
This Saturday, the Interact Group led a hands-on eco-brick drive, collected nearly 80 plastic bottles and a large volume of discarded wrappers and bags from the school canteen and nearby communities. Students cleaned, cut, washed, and dried every bit of plastic with incredible enthusiasm.
Next step: transforming these into eco-bricks that can support meaningful community construction projects.
What’s inspiring is the mindset behind the action — seeing responsibility not as a requirement, but as an opportunity to contribute to a cleaner, smarter future.
Proud of our young changemakers at The Galaxy School for taking ownership and bringing sustainability to life, one bottle at a time.
